However, just by running this website, we cannot avoid that we are processing a very limited amount of personally identifiable information ("data") of website visitors. Also, when you contact us, we may process some of your personal data.


Data we process when you visit our website

We are processing data that is automatically shared by the device that you are using whilst visiting patterndissection.org, the HTTP(S) data also often referred to as server log files. HTTP(S) stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Secure) and is as technical as it sounds. This data includes your IP address, date and time (including time zone) of your visit, the actual page visited, the web page you visited prior to coming to patterndissection.org, information about your browser (including type and version), your operating system and language settings. This data is used by the web server to correctly display the content of our website according to your settings and preferences. Server log files will be deleted automatically after 7 days.

This website is hosted on servers provided by ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich, Inh. René Münnich, Hauptstr. 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany ("Webhost"). The Webhost is processor pursuant to Art. 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). This processing is based on a Data Processing Agreement we entered into with the Webhost, assuring the security and protection of your personal data. Without disclosure of data the use of our website is technically impossible. Without the processing of such data your browser would not be able to communicate with the server hosting our website.


Data we process when you buy music from us

We are processing data that is required to fulfill your order. This data includes your name, address, date and time (including time zone) of your order, the order information and your payment status. We are obligated to store contractual information (including the data concerning your order) for ten years according to applicable business and tax laws.

You may order music directly from us only through our webshop hosted by Bandcamp Inc., 48 Gold St, San Francisco, California 94133-5103, USA ("Bandcamp") who is a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. We also use PayPal as our payment provider. The basis for data processing in the USA is your consent pursuant to Art. 49(1) lit. a) GDPR. Please note that in the USA there is no level of data protection comparable to the provisions of the GDPR. Therefore, it is possible that US authorities may access personal data without us or you being informed. An enforcement of your rights is probably not possible in the USA. You can withdraw your given consent at any time with effect for the future. That said, Bandcamp is assuring the security and protection of your personal data. Bandcamp also sets its own cookies on your device. This also happens if you do not have a Bandcamp user (fan, artist or label) account. If you are logged in at Bandcamp, your data will be associated directly with your Bandcamp user account. If you do not want the association to your Bandcamp user account, you must log out of Bandcamp before clicking "Buy Record", "Buy Posters" or the Bandcamp logo.

The legal basis for the collection of contractual data is provided by Art. 6(1) lit. b) and c) GDPR, the contract and our legal obligation. The legal basis for the transfer of order and payment information to webshop and payment providers is provided by Art. 6(1) lit. f) GDPR, our legitimate interest is to offer order and payment services as customary in the industry, and Art. 6(1) lit. a) GDPR, your consent. If you order from us, the provision of data is obligatory based on statutory and contractual regulations. The contractual relationship cannot be established and carried out if you do not provide the data.


Data we process when you contact us

When you reach out to us via email or otherwise with questions or to send us demo requests, we are processing the data you provide us with. This may be most likely your name, address, email address, phone. If you don't want us to process any of this data, please amend your email signature or any other means of communication accordingly before contacting us.

The legal basis is provided by Art. 6(1) lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide you with the information requested by you. Obviously, the processing of your contact data is necessary to establish an appropriate communication. If such data is not provided, the communication may be considerably disturbed.
